After many years of varying levels of discontent in the seaside hamlet of Oceanside, New York, Alanna Schubach set out to find her fortune in Washington, D.C. at the age of 17. She quickly discovered she did not have the constitution for political life - too many bobbed haircuts, too little frivolity - and she decided to pursue the creative arts at Sarah Lawrence College, earning an MFA and a fondness for Alice Munro. Now she resides in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, a seaside hamlet of another kind, seeking Barton Fink's "life of the mind," but without the accompanying murder mystery. She would like to write for you, photograph your wedding, transcribe your secret meetings, take your kids to the playground, and generally channel her creative impulses to useful and worthwhile work. |
